KimonoHaus
Authentication
Every piece in our collection is hand-inspected in Japan by curators with decades in vintage textiles. We don't list anything we wouldn't wear ourselves.
How we source
Our curators travel monthly to Tokyo flea markets, Kyoto private estates, and specialist dealers across Japan. We don't buy at scale — we buy carefully.
How we authenticate
Era is determined by a combination of construction technique, dye chemistry, weave pattern, and motif iconography. We cross-reference against textile archives and consult specialist dealers when uncertain.
Condition grading
- — Mint — unworn or near-unworn, no visible flaws
- — Excellent — light wear, no significant flaws
- — Very Good — minor wear consistent with age
- — Good — visible wear, may have small repairs or marks
- — Fair — significant wear, sold for collectors and remakers
Our guarantee
If a piece is ever proven not to be what we described, we'll refund you in full and cover return shipping. Authenticity is non-negotiable.
